Kiff Tries to Sue the Internet – An Analysis of ‘Hungee Squirrel’

I’ve decided for myself that, to keep myself on a schedule to justify paying for this website’s domain, I should make a post to it whenever I upload a video, instead of radio silence until I eventually make a post or when an OTOG chapter is completed. So, as the start of this… better habit, here’s my post reminding y’all that I have a new video out. Also, some artwork I made during the time the video was in production.

THE VIDEO

7-day memeorological forecast calls for Hungee Squirrel with a 50% chance of Just Woke Up Kid.

STORMY’S GALLERY SNIPPETS

…let’s start with two I forgot to post last time, mainly because they’re non-OTOG art and I didn’t feel them to be a priority. Well, they’re priority now, for anyone that wants to see what I do with other characters.

The Calamity Trio – Chrono Trigger style

Uploaded February 26, 2025.

After watching a video by Brandon James Greer in which he drew the cast of Final Fantasy VII in the pixel art style of Chrono Trigger (one of the best RPGs, BTW), I felt inspired to try my own hand at the style, with the cast of Amphibia. I’m not that big a fan of the show, but I have friends who are. And I thought they’d appreciate me giving the show some artwork that Marcy Wu would especially get a kick out of.

Keeping with the SNES aesthetic, the colors you see here are all part of the console’s palette, and the canvas size of 512x448px is the same as the interlaced resolution of the system.

Westernized Gengar

Uploaded March 23, 2025.

A reimagining of the Pokémon Gengar, speculating what they might have looked like if the games were developed by a Western studio, or reskinned for Western release. I took inspiration from pillows and teddy bears. Don’t know if I’ll do more of these Westernized Pokémon designs, but this one was fun to do.

Now with those latecomers out of the way, let’s get to the two pieces that were made during production of the above-posted video.

April Lowry – Decades AU Template

Uploaded April 30, 2025. Like I was gonna go the entire month of April without drawing… well, the mephitine called April.

I went for a different approach here, actually aiming to draw April engaging with the culture of the decades she’s depicted in the styles of, than simply posing against backgrounds of aesthetics of the decades. The artwork proved the most popular of the series by far on BlueSky, with over 20 likes (I usually get no more than like five on any of my artworks). I am planning on extending this series to some of my side-characters, so be on the lookout for those.

Also, as you can imagine, 1970s April was the most fun to draw. I actually imagine April being a pretty unhinged character, and drawing her holding a lawn dart gave me a perfect opportunity to do so.

Green Girls’ Suit Swap

Uploaded May 24, 2025.

The 1940s and 1980s are both known as the decades of the shoulder pads. Gilda Grime is known for wearing a green 1980s-style suit on special occasions, and Nicole Wyler has been known to wear a 1940s-style suit, also in green. So what better idea than having these shoulder pad- and green-loving autistics swap suits?

…yeah, no. They don’t like how they look on them. Gilda thinks victory rolls look more silly than stylish, and Nicole thinks the perm and makeup make her look like a clown. But hey, it’s fun for the rest of us to see them in outfits they feel look embarrassing on them.

And that’s all for now. Chapter VI is coming soon, as is my next video. And I’ll show both here when they’re uploaded… after which I will be free from copying and pasting the outro of last blog post. But until that time, take care, stay safe, be good to each other, reject Trump’s attempts to bring the world down… and have a good one.
