Roll Away Would’ve Done Better in a Kula World – Arcade-ological Discoveries

I’m back after three and a half months, with a video that took me forever to make and even killed the hard drive it was supposed to be stored on! Here’s the video, and the artwork I made on the side during its production!

THE VIDEO

A game so hard, you may not have the balls to beat it.

Wyler’s All Hallows V-VIII

V – 2007

VI – 2010

VII – 2013

VIII – 2016

Uploaded October 19, 25, 28, and 31, 2025.

Yes, this is how long the new video took to make. I still had yet to post the other four entries of the Wylers’ All Hallows series. That’s casting and animation for you!

V – 2007 (Mod girl, the other twin, Yankee, and baseball)
When Nicole was three, going on four years old, her parents and older sisters realized she wasn’t developing socially at the typical rate. She hardly ever said more than a few words at a time, was easily overstimulated by loud noises, and preferred to play with her plushes and baby sister, Wendy, than with kids her age. After taking her to a psychologist, the Wylers learned she was autistic. The other sisters were soon tested, with the twins and Wendy being found neurotypical, and Dolly being found to also be autistic.

Dolly, as a socially awkward teenager, precocious as a fashion designer but stunted in her social skills, felt liberated by the diagnosis, and wanted to embrace her quirkiness. She decided to be a mod girl for All Hallows’, making white go-go boots and a dress with a caramel apple pattern in a 1960s style. Stella Svampsson, diagnosed autistic herself years before and inspired by her bestie’s newfound confidence, talked Dolly into making a similar outfit, with a teal hair ribbon and earrings, changed from Dolly’s red to fit her favored color scheme.

Roz and Maddie, not knowing what to be for All Hallows’, decided to be each other. Roz stuffed a pillow in her sweater to look plus-sized like Maddie, and Maddie had to wear mascara, for her eyelashes to look as thick as Roz’s. Finally, Nicole, just discovering her love of baseball, dressed as a New Pork Yankee, and baby Wendy dressed as a baseball.

When Dong-hoon and Judith gathered their daughters in front of the fence for this fifth edition of their photo, an electrical fire broke out in one of the restaurants in downtown Grunvale. An Albaneigh FD truck came down Brooks Drive to get to town, blaring its sirens as it passed the Wylers’ house. The noise severely startled the noise-sensitive Nicole, who was left in tears from the overstimulation. Roz, Maddie, and Wendy could only look on in confusion as Dolly tried to console Nicole.

VI – 2010 (Rosalina, Heinz Doofenschmirtz, Dee Dee, Bubbles, and Maggie Pesky)
Dolly’s time wearing braces forced her to eat healthier, and by her junior year of high school, she had slimmed down considerably from her elementary and middle school days. During this time, the sisters all got hooked on the Super Mario Galaxy games. Partially to spite her peers at Reitherman High that fat-shamed her by askingif she was going to be ‘the fat star’ (the Hungry Luma) for All Hallows’, Dolly dressed as Rosalina, complete with a Luma plush she’d sewn.

Dolly had outgrown trick-or-treating by her junior year; she stayed home to hand out candy. She still bought caramel-covered acorns and chocolate-dipped strawberries for herself, though. After all, who can resist sweets on All Hallows’?

With Phineas and Ferb being a huge show of the time, all the costumes of the title characters were sold out before Dong-hoon and Judith could get their hands on them. The closest they could find was a single Doofenschmirtz costume, which Roz called dibs on. Maddie, wanting to at least fit a theme of ‘villain from boy genius cartoon’ with her twin, decided to be Dee Dee from Dexter’s Laboratory. She got teased at school for wearing her costume, as many thought she was too old to dress as a ballerina at eleven, almost twelve years old. She wasn’t bothered; she was happy just to fit the aforementioned theme.

Nicole had met Murphy Grubenstein and Charlotte Roth in kindergarten the year before; all of them had a shared love of The Powerpuff Girls, which all of them had DVDs of at home, and would watch together at playdates. Now in first grade, they decided for All Hallows’ to be the trio, with Murphy as Blossom, Charlotte as Buttercup, and Nicole as Bubbles. The decision of who to be who was easy for all of them, as their hair colors loosely matched the characters.

Roz and Maddie had several VHS tapes saved of airings of The Buzz on Maggie, having been fans of the show in second grade. Wendy, an infant when the show aired, now watched her sister’s old tapes as a kindergartener, and became a fan herself, deciding to be the show’s title character for All Hallows’. She even had her hair dyed pink for her costume.

None of Wendy’s classmates or teachers knew who or what she was supposed to be, as The Buzz on Maggie had long faded from what little public consciousness it had in its day.

VII – 2013 (1980s costume, Dipper and Mabel Pines, Coco Bandicoot, and creepy doll)
The seventh edition of this series of photos of the sisters was effectively the final hurrah for the fence of 2687 Brooks Drive, which, by 2013, had deteriorated into being a buffet for termites and silverfish, both wild and ine. The fence would be torn down the next spring.

The perameline Rose family had moved into the neighborhood in August, to the excitement of ten-year-old Nicole, who quickly developed a crush on their son, Murray. She was excited further when she found out he was enrolled at Ward Kimball Elementary, in the same fourth grade class as her.

Nicole decided to be Coco Bandicoot for All Hallows’. Her parents and the Roses were okay with the costume, as long as she agreed not to dye her fur orange or wear a fake snout.

Gravity Falls was of course a big show in 2013, that Roz and Maddie, as twins like Dipper and Mabel, quickly got hooked on. Most of the clothes for their costumes were quite easily bought at the store, with the exception of the shooting star sweater for Maddie, which Dolly knitted alongside the turtleneck for her own costume.

Dolly and Stella, now in their second year of cosmetology school, were frequent patrons of a frozen yogurt shop, at which an Iwerks U student, Gregory Voronov, worked as he went for his master’s degree. Greg invited both sows to a 1980s-themed party at Iwerks, to which they both enthusiastically accepted, as both were fans of fashion of the era and wanted an opportunity to dress in the attire without getting strange looks.

It was while slow-dancing together at the party to Belinda Carlisle’s “I Get Weak”, that Dolly and Greg realized they had deeper feelings for each other… something more than a friendship brewing.

Oh, and Wendy dressed as a creepy doll. Her costume freaked out many students and even teachers at Ollie Johnston Elementary, to the point where she was considered a distraction and sent home.

VIII – 2016/the present day (Princess Daisy, Luigi, Bill Cipher, Mike Wazowski, Bubbles, and 1960s pop singer)
The present day in OTOG canon. By this point, Wendy’s full friend group had been formed and named the ‘Oddball Tetrad’, Nicole started dating Holt Klug in addition to Murray Rose, Roz and Maddie moved into that run-down strip mall space, and most significantly to this art series, Dolly, the sow you watched grow from a toddler to an adult throughout the course of these photos, married to Gregory Voronov, and took on his name as the second part of her newly-hyphenated surname.

Mephit-Away Deodorizing Mints logo

Uploaded to Bluesky November 11, 2025.

And here’s a flex of my logo-making skills! This is for a product that exists in the Grunvaliverse; flavored mints that, when ingested, cause the consumer to let out a fart that rids them of body odor, especially skunk smell. These mints have been around in-universe since 1958, and the logo itself, depicting a beatnik mephitine, has mostly only seen color and font alterations since.

And before you ask, because some people had to be those people, NO, THIS IS NOT FETISH ART. IT IS TOILET HUMOR. Who the fuck even gets horny for farts anyway?!

Cotton Candy, So Undignified!

Uploaded to Bluesky November 22, 2025.

The result of me deciding to flex my skills at making a digital painting (keyword *painting*, not just a cartoon), by depicting Gilda reacting with disgust at every raccoon’s least favorite food. The idea behind this artwork was, painted portraits usually depict their subjects in a solemn, dignified manner. So why not flip that idea on its head, and go humorous and undignified?

Also, yes, I thought up another formal outfit for Gilda. Since this is an artwork in the style of a formal painting, I decided to put her in formal wear, inspired by the 1940s. Reminder, Gilda canonically hates the victory rolls hairstyle, as she thinks it looks ridiculous. Subjecting her to cotton candy is torture enough for her, I say.

This was a fun artwork to make. Took ten and a half hours and nearly 9000 strokes.

Her Days of Silence are Be-Hynde Her

Uploaded to Bluesky November 26, 2025.

This was the artwork I drew to announce I had hired a voice actress to voice Margo Hynde. Namely, an Insta user who goes by the mononym ‘Catsi’. I was like two weeks into my search for a voice actress for Margo with no results, and almost decided to make her mute for the video. But then, by a stroke of luck, I found Catsi, a cosplayer and aspiring actress who was offering voice commissions through Ko-fi. When I listened to her work, I knew she’d be a great fit. And, well, der Rest ist Geschichte.

Dolly Wyler-Voronov’s Self Caricature

Uploaded to Bluesky November 30, 2025.

I’ve drawn how I imagine Gilda and Margo drawing before, now I drew Dolly in what I imagine her own style to be. As you may be able to tell, I imagine she likes the work of Al Hirschfeld.

Nightfall at Castle Rock

Uploaded to Bluesky December 15, 2025.

Well, this might be one of the most upsetting celebrity deaths I’ve seen hit the news in my life. Rob Reiner, one of the greatest film directors of the 1980s and 1990s, murdered by his own son at the age of 78. I actually almost vomited when I heard the news, I’m not kidding. It was Reiner’s film The Sure Thing (1985 film starring John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga) that was one of the films I watched as a budding film enthusiast in middle school (circa 2011), and just the month before, I watched Misery, the film that won Kathy Bates her Oscar. And to hear Reiner not just died, but was murdered, by his own son, along with his wife (the murderer’s mother)… how fucking horrifying.

I hope Nick is shown no mercy when he is sentenced, for he showed none to his parents. And quite frankly, if reports of Nick’s behavior through the years are to be believed, he should’ve been sent to prison a long time ago.

Roy the Gamer Kid

Uploaded to Bluesky December 25, 2025.

An artwork I made as part of a Secret Santa exchange in the Discord server of EpicFrick, a friend of mine, featuring Roy, one of the OCs of SkippySkwovet/SleepyForecast. I went for a cheesy aesthetic like a 1980s-early 1990s video game commercial, with Roy himself somewhat anachronistically playing Pokémon FireRed on a handheld resembling the Analogue Pocket.

I got an artwork of Wendy from a user named TrickyFox41 as part of the same exchange.

Peachy Apples

During production of the Roll Away video, I decided to retcon Margo’s design so that she has rosy cheeks like Gilda, albeit not as strong a flush. It gives her cheeks more dimension and she looks cuter this way. Also, rabbits have chubby cheeks, so why not emphasize it?

This is a change to the color artwork only; the flush of Margo’s cheeks is the same as the interiors of her ears, which are shown as pure white in my black-and-white comics.

Caprine Annie Torres

Uploaded to Bluesky January 22, 2026.

I’ve drawn AnimationFan15’s Charlotte Walker as a pteropine twice before; this time, I decided to mix it up and draw another OC of his, Annie Torres, who, keeping with a ficlet I wrote back in the day, is depicted as a caprine here. Specifically, an Iberian ibex (because Spanish last name) with albinism (Annie is depicted with snow-white skin). Don’t worry about her posing on a steep mountainside; ibexes are sure-footed enough to scale walls steeper than many can.

Small production (and biological) detail; you can tell how old an ibex is by how many segments their horns have. Annie is supposed to be 10 years old, so I drew this caprine version of her with ten segments to each horn.

Jessica Grime – Decades Template

Uploaded to Bluesky January 27, 2026.

Round seven of these! This time with a character I’d not drawn since 2023, but will be making her debut at last in the eighth chronological chapter of OTOG, currently codenamed Project Baer (named for Ralph Baer, inventor of the Magnavox Odyssey).

As for this artwork, since Jessica is supposed to be in her early forties, I decided to make her outfits somewhat old-fashioned for the decades depicted, such as having her depicted with victory rolls (a 1940s hairstyle) for the 1950s outfit, and a Geena Davis-esque perm for the 1990s outfit. For the 1960s outfit, I brought back the ‘holding an object like it’s a cigarette’ joke from Dolly’s version of this template, this time with pretzels instead of a carrot.

Also, as a bit of worldbuilding, and keeping in mind the large German/Gerbilman-speaking population of the Colors, the ACTA sign Jessica’s holding has text in English, German, Spanish, and French, reading ‘NO SMOKING’, or some variant of it, in all four languages. For those of you who don’t remember the 2000s, smoking bans started taking off in earnest in that decade. Hence why I chose to depict a ‘NO SMOKING’ sign here.

Also, for those of you who were gonna ask, ACTA stands for ‘Albaneigh County Transit Authority’. It’s the company Jessica works for as a bus driver.

Are We Gonna Have to Shutter Up?

Uploaded to Bluesky January 31, 2026.

I… felt like drawing the Ketcham quints again, many of them for the first time since 2023. For those of you who don’t remember, Ellen is the perky girly-girl of the five, who likes to work in the kitchen and is the only one among them who chose home ec as an elective instead of shop. Much like her father Shaun, who, among his children, has the strongest father-child bond with her.

Also, I’m sure I’ve said this before, but when you picture Ellen talking, picture Marieve Herington’s performance as Tilly Green, because that’s who I imagine she sounds like.

And that’s all for now. Chapter VIII/Project Baer coming soon, as is my next video. And I’ll show both here when they’re uploaded. But until that time, take care, stay safe, be good to each other, reject the billionaires’ attempts to bring the world down… and have a good one.
